AIGA COMMAND X 2021 CONTESTANT
Selected along with six other emerging designers to compete over the course of a week long design sprint. We were given one week to complete the first assignment—to design a new logo for Zoom. After the completion of the first challenge we were then given one day to complete our second assignment—to design a campaign with the brief "Disinformation and Climate Change".
For both challenges we were judged and critiqued by the sitting panel of Carly Ayres, Bobby C. Martin, Jr., Andrew Twigg, and Miranda Massie
Command X was created by Bonnie Siegler.
WEEK ONE—ZOOM REDESIGN
This logo redesign was a response to the ubiqituous nature of zoom during the height of the pandemic. I tried to rebel against corporate brand assumptions around the then Zoom takeover and create something that felt young (which, ironically, plays directly into the hands of the very force I was looking to oppose.) Trying to create something that could realistically live in a hedgefund conference call or an elementary school classroom by using a bold and simple color palette and playful accompanying graphics.

24 HOUR CHALLENGE—DISINFORMATION AND CLIMATE CHANGE
My response to the second prompt was an open source organization called Middleground. A touring space that provides a method of production and knowledge to places where it is needed most. I want to bring artists, community members, and human beings into a space with a common goal of creating the necessary objects to rally folks around a cause, or to just create.
Using system fonts as a means for accessibility, any design created inside of Middle Ground could function as a template to be used outside of it. The message for designers is that we have a set of practical skills that when working with other members of society can be applied and shared to create things that not only inform but direct.
